Talking Points: Jesus Our Substitute

  • Jesus as our substitute took our place and experienced for us, in our stead so that we would not have to.
  • Jesus died on a cross for our sin. Because He did we do not have to die for our own sin.
  • Because Jesus bore our sickness and disease we do not have to bear it.
  • Because Jesus bore poverty we do not have to bear poverty.
  • Jesus did this for us because we could not do it for ourselves.
  • Because Jesus did, we are free from sin, sickness, disease and poverty.
  • Some people still suffer sickness and disease because they do not know what Jesus did for them.
  • Some because they believe it is God’s will for them.
  • Some because they are operating in the law of sowing and reaping.
  • Don’t let condemnation keep you from God’s mercy, grace and forgiveness.
  • The law of sowing and reaping
  • God has given us free will and because we have free will we can choose whatever we want, blessings and curses.
  • We sow “bad seeds” when we make bad or poor choices. Those bad seeds can grow and produce a harvest of suffering that could have been avoided if we had made better choices.
  • God is not going to change the green beans to corn but He will help us with the green beans.
  • God, our loving Heavenly Father will help us to overcome a bad harvest.
  • Like Job, sometimes we open the door to the devil by fear. We can also open the door by resisting or refusing the wisdom of God, by letting our mouths run, through pride, by not discerning the Lord’s body and by a lack of knowledge.
  • For every potential door that could be open to the devil, God has provided revelation by His word and through His Holy Spirit to close the door and keep it closed.
  • Let’s look at chastening
  • The chastening of the Lord is not only for correction but for training.
  • The Lord rebukes us, corrects us, teaches us and trains us through His word.
  • God not only has the Power to heal, but it is His will for everyone to be healed every time, all the time, no exceptions.
